Psychotherapist & Counsellor
Master’s in Counselling Psychology, Boston College, USA.
PACFA Reg.: Clinical 29496
My practice is rooted in warmth, empathy, and non-judgemental curiosity towards my clients. Through therapy, we can connect with the full spectrum of our emotions— pleasant and unpleasant—and find healthy ways to express them.
I bring 7 years and 4000 hours of clinical experience. Trained in the Psychodynamic framework, I am interested in my clients as whole and complex human beings. By uncovering the subconscious influence of early attachments and past experiences, we can exercise more agency and healthier choices in the present.
I work with adults navigating trauma, depression, grief, anxiety, relationship issues, and self-regulation. I specialise in working with PTSD, C-PTSD, adult survivors of childhood abuse, and high-conflict relationships.
My practice welcomes and affirms clients from diverse cultures, gender expressions, and belief systems. Fluent in English, Urdu, and Hindi, I frequently work with South Asian diaspora and immigrants.

“The pain is there; when you close the door on it, it knocks to come in somewhere else.”

TRAUMA-INFORMED
Honouring the ways we fought, fled, froze, and fawned in the service of our survival. Rooted in compassion. Recognising the impact of larger systems on individual well-being.
EVIDENCE-BASED
Grounded in theory and frameworks supported by research. Creating treatment plans and interventions that are effective and safe. Routinely updating my own skills.

Areas of Focus
-
Trauma profoundly impacts how we make sense of the world, how we regulate ourselves, and how we relate to others. I recognise that trauma has various manifestations. Incidents like accidents or sudden loss, sexual and relational abuse, war, poverty, or growing up in high-stress / high-conflict families.
I provide a compassionate and grounding space where survivors can process their experiences. I centre the client’s needs, offering tools from crisis-management, neuropsychological techniques to improve self-regulation, and talk therapy.
-
Our earliest attachments create relational blue-prints, which we repeat well into adulthood. We can subconsciously recreate behaviours and relational patterns we have internalised at a young age. In therapy, I bring attention to these early dynamics, helping clients to change their actions and relationships in the present.
I also support clients who witness or experience high-conflict relationships. This may include verbal, physical, emotional, or financial abuse.
-
Depression is the most commonly experienced mental health symptom across the globe. You may be noticing low mood, changes in appetite, disturbance in sleep, crying spells, or increased irritability. You may know why you are feeling depressed, or you may feel confused about its origin. Both are quite normal.
I offer support through talk therapy, behavioural activation techniques, and cognitive-behavioural therapy. Most importantly, we create a compassionate space, where your feelings and experiences can be understood.
-
Loss takes many forms, and can make us feel unmoored. It may be the loss of a loved one, a familiar place, a beloved animal companion, or the anticipation or losing ourself or a loved one to illness. I offer a holding space for difficult feelings, coming to terms with the loss, and gradually integrating it into our lives in a meaningful way.
I also work with Complex Grief. You may be grieving a conflicted relationships, or someone who is alive but inaccessible. All human experience is complex, valid, and approached without judgement.
-
Research affirms that stress disrupts our physical, cognitive, emotional, and relational health. And prolonged stress, without relief or effective management, can even reduce life-span.
Wherever your stress is rooted, I have a variety of approaches to help you manage it effectively. I use talk therapy to encourage catharsis, mindfulness and breath-work to help the body reduce stress, and expressive arts techniques to use joy and playfulness as a counter to negative thoughts.
-
The word “conflict” has a bad reputation. When in fact, not only is conflict an inevitable part of life, it can be an essential component of healthy relationships.
I teach behavioural techniques that can help you manage anger, irritability, and outbursts—which can create unhealthy conflict. I also share communication and listening strategies that transform conflict into a means of growing closer and becoming more productive.
-
Individual mental health is formed in the interaction of our inner and outer worlds. Systems of culture, gender identity, race, ethnicity, and identity influence how we experience the world, where we find belonging, and where we are safe.
I create space for clients to explore multicultural identity, experiences of migration and adjustment, and navigating blended cultures in families.
